Back in gear on a busy Saturday
Today we had a list of things to do. First, Jess and I were taking our engagement photos with our friends Steve and Tak. They do a really good job, check them at stakimages.
After the photos, we went to dinner with them.
Then when we got back, we finished packing. On Sunday we move into our new house. Hopefully I'll find some time to study for the CFA.
In any case, I'm back in gear. I did find time to run today.
I ran for 61 minutes at average heart rate of 157, a little more than 80% of my max target heart rate.

So it starts...
Hey All,
I decided I would start a blog to track my journey through my first triathlon. I'm doing the mighty hampton tri on 9/14/08, it's 1 mile of swiming, 24 miles of biking, and 6miles of running.
I'm an okay athlete, but not in tri shape. I'm 5'10''. On 4/17/08, when I started training, I weighed 183lbs and 17% of that is fat.
So why I am doing a Tri? 4 of my friends are doing it, so I thought it would be fun. Besides that, I'm a super competitive person so I decided to call my friends out. I said I would finish before Hostos. He doesn't think it is likely :) In fact, I'm the underdog; in terms of physique they all have me beat. I think I have a shot at beating Erik and Alan, but that's more of a stretch. Ruben is a seasoned tri-athlete, so I'll make a run for him in my 2nd tri :)
With that said, my smack talking is writing tall orders. So I'm going to train like an animal. If I lose, it won't be because I'm not prepared.
As you can see, I have my work cut out. Especially because I can barely swim 4 laps in a pool, but some swim lessons and lot of training will sort me out. To make things more complicated, I'm taking the CFA Level I on 6/7/08, so my training time will be limited until then. Once the CFA is over, things will be better, but I'll still be busy planning my wedding to my beautiful fiance.
So far this is the training I did.
4/17/08----> 3 mile run in 27 minutes
4/19/08----> 15 mile ride, 1 hr
4/20/08----> 20 mile ride, 1 hr 15 minutes
4/20/08----> 3 mile run in 28.5 minutes, Avg. HR=165
Looks like I'm trending down in the running. I think my earlier ride slowed me down.
