Training going well.

The summary
  • Friday Swim class
  • Saturday 6 mile Run
  • Sunday 5 mile Run
Friday night, I had my second swim class. While I'm still really slow & inefficient, I saw progress. Besides that, I didn't cramp up. I'm looking forward to seeing more improvement there, I just need some more time in the water.

This weekend I picked up the Garmin Forerunner 305, it's pretty awesome tool. It really helped me see where I stand in my running.

Saturday I ran 6 miles, and it seemed pretty hilly. You can see my stats below.

Sunday
I did a 5 mile run. My legs didn't have the same spring in them as they did yesterday. I also noticed that I get really hungry around mile 3. I think I'm going to start carrying some z-bars with me.

An Eventful weekend

On Friday night, I took my first swim lesson. It was an hour long and it kicked my butt. It was an amazing workout. I learned I can't muscle the water. Hopefully in time, I'll get better.

With five minutes left, my calf cramped up. I'm thinking it was actually a sprain or strain because my leg is still tender after lots of ben gay and icy hot.

Since my leg was tender, I took Saturday off.

On Sunday, we did the five borough bike tour. Great ride and great weather.

We logged about 50 miles at decent pace.

Sunday, A day of moving aka cross training

Sunday was super busy. I started moving at 8:30 am, finished at 1am. I didn't run, bike, or swim, but boy was I tired. Somehow I don't feel short changed of my workout.

Back in gear on a busy Saturday

Today we had a list of things to do. First, Jess and I were taking our engagement photos with our friends Steve and Tak. They do a really good job, check them at stakimages.
After the photos, we went to dinner with them.

Then when we got back, we finished packing. On Sunday we move into our new house. Hopefully I'll find some time to study for the CFA.

In any case, I'm back in gear. I did find time to run today.

I ran for 61 minutes at average heart rate of 157, a little more than 80% of my max target heart rate.
